I had to pop into Harvey Noman in Manukau yesterday to look for a modem. I wasn’t really looking forward to going, as I knew they were having a PS3 day, with Mai FM broadcasting live, Spacifix performing and a PS3 give away.
I wasn’t looking forward to the crowds and all the hype and bull.
The first thing I noticed when I arrived was that they had blocked off a premium section of the car park for the Spacifix gig, but there didn’t seem to be too many people around.
On entering Harvey Norman, everything looked normal until I reached the entrance to the electronic section; almost blocking the entrance was a humongous PS3 IDU.
The thing was huge, so big in fact that it reminded me of the old saying about guys who drive big cars….. And it had one kid playing on it.
The modems proved to be overpriced, so I left, had some lunch down by K-Mart and by the time I got back to the car Spacifix were playing to an embarrassingly small crowd, which begs the question:
Have Spacifix had their day, or does Mai FM just not have the listener ship, or does the PS3 just suck big time?
